I've been itching to do this again, after being so close to the 2 hour mark last time.
I didn't need to run any faster, I just needed to run a more direct route.
The run couldn't've gone much better but it wasn't totally without error or incident, plus the wind didn't really help, but I felt I was working harder and my new line thru Delamere worked, plus a few other tweaks saved some more time.
14.7 miles (1477 ft asc)
1:52:38.71
Frodsham - Helsby - - - 19:49.60 - 0:19:49.60 Helsby - Delamere - - - 47:56.72 - 1:07:46.32 Delamere - Frodsham - 44:52.39 - 1:52:38.71
I could take more off that in the right conditions and with fresher legs. So I may yet have another go.

Hi Folk
Just popped in to say I clocked 1:55:33, distance 15.21 miles this morning on The Helsby Three Peaks.
Conditions were good and I ran flat out all the way. I'll give it a week or two before I have another crack at it.
Warning - Watch out for Ch4rl13

Nice Blog Dave, enjoyed reading that and will head back there i'm sure.
Feeling a little left out on the Three Peaks so after the fell relays this weekend thinking i'll make it an autumn / winter priority.
Still not got that map out though

well done to Sharon Basford and Kathy Frankland from Tattenhall Runners who completed the Three Peaks today in 4 hours and 36 minutes and with a total distance of 17.26 miles.
Take it they are now joint holders of the female Three Peaks record.
A few alternative route choices to be taken there ladies!

Great effort by Sharon and Kathy
I thought I recognised the two runners heading up the rock As I was driving down in the opposite direction. If I had realised they were having a go a the three peaks I would have offered some hints on route choice.
Having said that I'm still not sure how Chris managed to get the distance below 15 miles so I've got a bit to learn myself.

I'd love to be able to attempt the record Dave but alas I still haven't formulated an adequate route but after the Brecon Ultra i'll be up for sorting that out and needless to say even if I give it a full on attempt I'm still not sure I have the legs for your record in 2011, maybe next year!
Sounds like we could have two records, a night and day one!
