What's the plan for Moel-y-Gamelin? I reckon we should sort out lifts... who's going and what time would it be sensible to meet at the club? My memory isn't serving me well here, which one is this? Where does it start?

Moles are gambling is the race starting at the Ponderosa cafe' 11.00am Sunday 26th June (AM Class, 9.5miles, 2380ft) Some more details here www.wfra.me.uk/Jun115.jpgalso the race is organised by Pete Norman, Wrexham (www.wrexham-athletics.co.uk) I'd suggest 9 tp 9.15am meet at the club, gives adequate drive and warm-up time!

Ahh, I remeber this one. I remember the end being tough, but a great race. I think you were at Glasto last year when this was on.

I'll be there at 9:15 and should have the car. We can all park at Helsby and jump in as many cars as required. Anybody else turning up at the club first?

Looks like I won't have the car. Spoke to the boss and she's really struggling being 8 months preggers and all that. I'll arrive with petrol money! If I could get a lift with you Adair I'd appreciate it.

I have "wife-beater" sun burn marks & my shoulders are red raw. Sooooo hot. Real toughy, probably the hardest one of the counters. Blooming great though. Worth the embarrassing tan marks for sure.
Hope you enjoy your 60k Howgills run... let us know how you got on.

This is the fourth time I have done this race, it is always tough and can never fathom out how to attack it. I always get easily beaten by people in the field who I would normally be in amongst. I have tried going off faster only to be passed coming back up to Gamelin, I have tried going off slower and having too much to do.
It is a total enigma.............but I will be back for more next year

It's an engima wrapped in mystery. I tried running more conservatively over the first tops (and not having to chase Ian this time) but was still absolutely goosed by the first water stop. From then on it was a case of grinding it out.
Just checked and I was 18s slower than 2009, which is either remarkably consistent or remarkably dull! Given I'm less probably less fit now, going cautiously seems to have worked a bit.
