I did the Boars Head race earlier this week - great mid week run out - and met up with recent ex club member Danny Chan along with long time ex member Phil Barnes.
Both are doing the Kinder trog on Sunday 16th June - 16 miles and 3490 feet.
I am probably going to give it a go, if anybody wants a lift, let me know
Phil

I love this race - a bit longer than a normal midweek event (8 miles) but the thing that gets me is that you are not far from posh south Manchester and yet when you enter the walls of the park it's like you are in a different world - including proper tussocks
Danny was flying and came in the top 10, I haven't seen any results yet but I had a good tussle with a couple of guys from Wilmslow and a lady from Pennine - if you can remember the run in you go over 3 cattle grids all with boards over them, the rumble of the runners behind you going over the boards is a good indication of how much leeway you have

yeah it's a good and tough mid-week one, normally one of the Cheshire selection races too?
some different route choices can be made too but I guess people have probably worked them all out now anyway
remember the last time I did it those boards were really slippy

I had a trot around the Knowl Hill race today - worth consideration for our championship next year.
It was also a championship race for Spectrum, I got talking to Julian and we mooted the idea of having an inter club fell competition between ourselves and Spectrum, perhaps just starting with 2 races this year - one selected from each of our club champs races
Any thoughts?

This is a fantastic race - a great combination of track, flagged (Pennine Way type) terrain, peat tracks, tussocks and sheep trods, mostly very runnable, perhaps too runable but one for the future, certainly for me

One for the Fell list then Phil, great scouting for races you are doing lately
BTW you looked pretty sharp on the 200's tonight!
