If 'The Beast' has whetted your appetite or you are a long time advocate of Martin Contrviends races or running in North Wales then look no further than the Hot Foot up Famau Wednesday June 22nd 7.30pm ( Start and Finish at the top car park on Moel Famau) This is the first race in the brilliant Clwydian Summer Trots series and is listed as 3.5 miles, 1200ft. A bargain at £3 and well worth waiting for the prize giving because they are lots of fun. Ideal outing for anyone wanting to have a go at hill running for the first time and usually attracts a good bunch of local runners too (Helsby, Tattenhall etc) Dates of other races in series: Race 2 Wednesday July 13th - The Druid Race 3 Wendesday July 27th - Green Green Grass of Home Details at www.wfra.org.ukPlease note that races 2 and 3 are also in our Helsby Club Counter series so a good tester in putting on the shorts for the Hotfoot ;D

Ricky Challinor won, guy from Dark Peak 2nd and Ian Houston 3rd, very strong field, not a particularly good run from myself but enjoyed the excursion nevertheless, good race to do as quite fast and frenetic with no real give in it. Did realise I need to get some decent fell shoes though as slipping all over on the downhills
